Remote Transcriptionist

MDA Public Affairs, a leading public affairs firm based in Trenton, New Jersey, is seeking a meticulous and reliable Remote Transcriptionist to join our team. We specialise in providing a wide spectrum of services, including advocacy, government management, and business process consulting. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced transcriptionist to work flexibly and support our diverse team in achieving strategic goals for our clients. The ideal candidate will have exceptional listening and typing skills and a keen eye for detail, converting audio and video recordings into high-quality written documents.

As a Remote Transcriptionist, you will play a crucial role in our operations. Your primary duties will include:

• Listening to various audio and video recordings, such as interviews, public hearings, meetings, and webinars, and transcribing them into accurate, verbatim text.
• Proofreading and editing transcriptions to ensure they are free from grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and punctuation inaccuracies.
• Adhering to strict formatting and style guidelines to produce professional and consistent documents.
• Researching technical terms, names, and acronyms related to New Jersey's public policy arena to ensure the highest level of accuracy.
• Managing multiple transcription projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
• Handling sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Proven experience as a professional transcriptionist or in a similar role.
• An excellent command of the English language, with outstanding grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
• An exceptional ability to listen carefully and capture spoken words accurately.
• A fast and precise typing speed.
• Proficiency in using transcription software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively in a fully remote environment.
• A high level of attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Familiarity with terminology in public policy, government, or legal sectors is advantageous but not essential.
