Job Title: HVAC Technician Job Description

This role focuses on installing, servicing, and maintaining HVAC systems in both residential and commercial settings, with a strong emphasis on commercial new construction and existing fit-out projects. You will work on a wide range of equipment and systems, interpret blueprints and construction drawings, and ensure high-quality installations and repairs that meet industry standards and project specifications.

• Install, service, and maintain HVAC systems in residential and commercial properties, including new construction, retrofits, and fit-out projects.
• Perform commercial HVAC installations on new and existing construction, ensuring all work meets project specifications and building codes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and construction prints to plan and execute installations and service work accurately.
• Install rooftop units, VAV (Variable Air Volume) boxes, and ductwork, ensuring proper sizing, alignment, and secure mounting.
• Cut, bend, and assemble sheet metal components for ductwork and related HVAC installations using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Perform residential HVAC installations, including full system installs and swap-out replacements, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in each area.
• Conduct HVAC service work, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and control issues with a minimum of 5 years of service experience.
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks on HVAC systems to improve reliability, efficiency, and longevity of equipment.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for installation, service, and repair activities.
• Perform field service visits to customer locations, providing professional, timely, and effective solutions to HVAC issues.
• Complete HVAC repairs and assembly tasks using professional-grade equipment and parts, following best practices and safety standards.
• Document work performed, communicate findings and recommendations, and ensure that all work areas are left clean and orderly.
• Work independently in the field, managing time and tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a residential HVAC installer.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a swap-out HVAC installer handling system replacements.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a commercial HVAC installer on new and existing construction projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an HVAC service technician performing troubleshooting and repairs.
• At least 5 years of HVAC installation experience overall, including hands-on work with a variety of systems and configurations.
• Proven ability to work independently in the field, managing installations, service calls, and maintenance tasks without close supervision.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and construction prints.
• Experience with construction-related HVAC work, including coordination with other trades on job sites.
• Proficiency in installing sheet metal ductwork, including cutting, bending, and assembling components.
• Hands-on experience with duct work installation and layout in both residential and commercial environments.
• Solid electrical knowledge related to HVAC systems, including wiring, connections, and basic controls.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for HVAC mechanical and electrical systems, including diagnostics and root-cause analysis.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Proficiency with power tools and hand tools commonly used in HVAC installation and service.
• Field service experience providing on-site maintenance, repair, and installation services to customers.
• EPA Universal certification for handling refrigerants.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with assembly, repair, and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
• Background in HVAC repair, maintenance, service, and installation across a variety of system types.

• Experience working with a range of HVAC brands, including Carrier, Aprilaire, Mitsubishi, York, Trane, Rheem, Armstrong, Bryant, and LG.
• Familiarity with both residential and commercial HVAC applications, including new installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Ability to maintain high standards of workmanship while meeting project timelines and quality expectations.
• Strong attention to detail when interpreting prints and installing complex HVAC systems.
• Effective communication skills to interact with customers, colleagues, and other trades on job sites.
• Commitment to safety practices and adherence to relevant codes and regulations in all HVAC work.

Technicians use professional-grade equipment, parts, hand tools, and power tools to perform installations, maintenance, and repairs. Work is primarily field-based at customer locations, requiring travel between job sites and collaboration with other trades in active construction environments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Perkasie, PA.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Perkasie,PA.
